Skiers and snowboarders searching for early season snow

Skiers and snowboarders searching for early season snow reports at some of Europe’s biggest ski resorts this winter might receive a nasty surprise if they use Google. The search engine has begun embedding snow reports on its results pages, however searches for some resorts prompt the rather ominous message «closed for the ski season», instead of the latest weather. The error seems to be a product of sourcing weather information from resorts that have not yet opened. For example, Méribel, France, is due to open this weekend, but search for «Meribel» and «snow» and Google will tell you that it is closed for the season. It could also be a hangover from the end of last season.
